April 27-30th - Hooker’s flanking movement march begins and ends up in and around Chancellorsville
May 1st - Stonewall Jackson marches from Fredericksburg and collides with the Union forces
May 2nd - Jackson’s flank attack pushes back the Union army a considerable distance. That night, he is accidentally wounded by his own men.
May 3rd - JEB Stuart takes over from Jackson and pushes the Union back past the Chancellor House. Hooker is wounded when a pillar explodes beside him and is incapable of decision making for a while. Meanwhile, Sedgwick captures Marye’s Heights at Fredericksburg and a battle takes place around Salem Church.
May 4th - Early recaptures Marye’s Heights. Sedgwick withdraws back across the river and Hooker decides to follow. At a council of war, the majority vote is to continue to fight but he pulls back anyway.
May 10th - Stonewall Jackson, after amputation of his arm from when he was fired upon, dies at Guinea Station
